ICCD is non-governmental, non-profit organization that aims to increase the capacity of local communities from Moldova for self-management and sustainable economic and community development. ICCD is a hosting and sending organization for European Voluntary Service. This is a program for young people aged 18-30 that offers the opportunity to make a year of volunteering in another European country or a country bordering European Union. The program is free of charge and the European Commission supports all costs (including transportation, rent, food and expenses).

We have now one available project for a German volunteer starting 1 April 2010.

The project is a part of a greater project “Activating civil society from the inside” which has reached it's second phase.

Among some tasks of the volunteer will be:

• To make a database of NGO's from Moldova
• To organize events in the cultural field
• To create a newsletter for civil society
• To promote partnerships between various organizations.
The volunteer is encouraged to contribute with his ideas and skills and also to make new initiatives within the organization.

The volunteer will benefit of training in a predeparture orientation camp and also language courses (Romanian or Russian) will be provided for free. There's a growing number of foreign volunteers in Moldova at the moment and you will get the chance to meet many of them and have fun together.
